The pound reached a 3 week high after the High Court ruled that the government must achieve parliamentary approval before triggering Article 50.
Uncertainty was cast over Brexit on Thursday as the High Court’s ruling means that MPs must vote on whether or not Article 50 should be invoked. This caused a surge in the pound, increasing the value by 1.2% against the dollar. This increase was curtailed slightly as it was announced that the government would be appealing the High Court’s decision.
