Approximately 150,000 people are able to take advantage of an extra ISA allowance, however many are unaware. Banks and building societies have come under criticism for not pointing this out to their customers, despite being available to them since April of this year.
Who Is Eligible?
Bereaved spouses and civil partners can inherit an ISA allowance from their deceased partner, equivalent to their ISA holdings at the time of death. The rules around inheritance and wills can be difficult to understand and during difficult or upsetting times it’s important that people can rely on sound advice to aid them.
